Park View Middle School

Learners today. Leaders tomorrow.

Academics

Park View offers the following types of classes for its students. These classes are meant to prepare students for a college preparatory program after graduating 8th grade. They are based on the AZ State Common Core Standards which promote college and career readiness. Park View students become adept at skills that help them to continue learning, rather than memorizing facts. Park View does not purchase curriculum programs because we require our teachers to prepare a curriculum for their students that is challenging, engaging, and relevant. Most importantly, we require a curriculum that is purposeful and clear. We also take great strides to ensure that students continue to have access to PE, the Arts, Teen Leadership, and Foreign Language, in order to provide a well-rounded curriculum.

We utilize the following:

  • Highly qualified teachers who are trained to engage students, teach skills instead of basic knowledge, and challenge students through inquiry and a variety of instructional methodology.
  • Common Core State Standards based on the College and Career Readiness Skills Assessment. This is a skills-based criteria designed to prepare students for continued successful learning in college and the work place.

We prepare them to:

  • tackle rigorous academics
  • be problem solvers
  • schedule and organize for themselves
  • know where to go for help
  • be prepared and practiced at planning
